The Artist
Cordula C. Peters was born in Innsbruck, Austria, on October 1st 1978 to a German couple. She was the youngest of three daughters. When she was 6 years old her family moved back to Germany. They moved to Munich, Bavaria. In Munich she went to Elementary School and then High School. Already as a child Cordula showed a big interest in art. She loved to draw and paint and whenever the family went on vacation she would take her fathers old Canon camera to shoot photographs.
After Cordula graduated from High School in 1998 she left Munich to see the world and moved to America. There she worked as a nanny in the Boston area for one year. She took drawing classes in the evenings after work, started meeting with other artists and musicians and slowly established her position in the local art scene. It was her drawing teacher who encouraged her to apply to art school to get her BFA. Going to art school was a whole new experience for Cordula. Although her major was Fine Arts with a concentration in sculpture and Installation work she continued to study photography. She also worked at the New Media Center and developed a high interest in computer arts.
After graduating Cordula started teaching computer classes at a local college and worked as a freelance graphic designer. She continued her education and in 2004 received her M.A. Shortly after her graduation she moved to Abu Dhabi in the UAE to take on a teaching position at a local college where she worked for four years until 2010 when she left the UAE to move to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia Cordula chaired the Visual Communication department at a local non-for-profit university for women. While there she helped guide the department through an extensive curriculum review for their graphic design curriculum, headed the development of a new motion graphics curriculum, and was able to lead the process of getting both accredited by the country's national accreditation body for higher education. While in Jeddah Cordula also completed her Ed.D in Higher Education through the University of Sheffield.
Cordula has been living in London, UK since September 2017, where she is attending culinary school to get her grand diploma in cuisine and patisserie. For her the art of cooking is yet another expression of her creativity. Cordula has interest in many different areas and considers herself an interdisciplinary artist. Art is her passion and her hope is to reach and inspire the people around her the way she gets inspired by her friends, family, colleagues and other artists.
